Elite School of Beauty hosts ‘Open Day’

Image
Elite School of Beauty recently hosted a successful ‘Open Day’ at their clannish premises in Greendale, at number 24 Cunningham Road, with the main purpose of exposing “Beauty Therapy” as a viable career option to prospective students and parents. The attendants had the opportunity to see what it is actually like being enrolled as a Beauty Therapy student and the depth of study required.  Students assisted in manning the information stands and sharing information about the courses they are enrolled in. It was amazing to realise how much misinformation or lack of information is out there about pursuing careers in the beauty industry. By the time the prospective students left their minds had been opened up to what Beauty Therapy really is all about. Elite School of Beauty Business Development Manager Gladys Sambo said their goal as a school is to educate the nation on the value of this industry and how powerful it actually is whilst raising the standards of Beauty Therapy in ...

Girl Child Success Story

The move towards a gender balanced world is a dual effort and it is this appreciation that many women lack. Policy makers can only make it possible for equality to be achieved, but it is women themselves that have to walk the mile and grab the torch that has been lit. It is in the spirit of encouraging such balance that I feature the story of one Miss Nkosinofefe Amanda Bulala, who recently graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Rural and Urban Planning at the University of Zimbabwe and also scooped the 2017 ARUP ZIMABWE Best Student Award. Born in a family of four and being the only girl in her family, Miss Bulala was introduced to the adversities of a gender biased society at a very tender age. The constant comparison with her siblings awakened in her an appetite to prove society wrong and do away with the socially accepted notion that girls are somewhat being inferior to boys.
